Migrating Broadband providers onto British Telecom exchanges throughout the United Kingdom- known as the project, local loop unbundling. The role also included the provision, repair, rearrangement and maintenance of copper circuits on the distribution frames within the exchange. Teamed up with a person that ran a property company. Our company ranged from developing a property to new-builds. The property or site would be purchased and building works would begin as soon as planning permission was granted. There was always a strict timetable to adhere to for sakes of maximising profit in the volatile property market. My role was to manage the site thereafter, hiring and firing of the staff; ensuring site was never short of material; liaising constantly with structural engineers to honour rules and regulations.

Duties included administrating network and providing 1st and 2nd line user support for the exhibition clients:
• Configuring customer DHCP served internet access via a proxy server, direct internet access using a real IP addresses and Dial-Up access.
• Troubleshooting and testing the LAN and host equipment: VoIP telephone service, analogue, and ISDN equipment using test equipment all the way back to the CISCO switch.
• Managing file system backup on Hewlett Packard’s Omniback 3.5 platform.
• Terminating cat-5 cables.

• Responsible for managing Arcserve’s nightly data backup routine.
• Restoring deleted files using Arcserve backup utility
• Advising on product purchases such as CDROMs, scanners and other peripherals.
