Project Description: The Mission Critical Production environment comprising both OLTP and BATCH PROCESSING systems supports the GCB (Global Consumer bank) and GF (Global Finance) Business Functions of CITIBANK .The Production Systems currently run on ORACLE 8.x and ORACLE 9i with Distributed and Advanced Replication Options conforming to OFA Standards functioning in Archived Log 24x7 up mode.   The biggest Databases Size is above 2 TB.  Total database size is more than 20000 gigs that are spread across , Singapore, Taiwan, HongKong, Hungary, Spain, Germany and some US data warehousing databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Worked with Oracle 9i database server, solved user problems, developer problems from help desk immediately such as connectivity problems, link problems, network problems, rollback segment problems, lock and performance problems, privilege problems.
  • Performed data modeling, database logical and physical design for data warehousing databases.
  • Created Oracle database space, table space growth monitoring; data file additions, extent growth monitoring and management of Rollback Segments.
  • Centralized Creation/ Alteration of Oracle 9i database objects as per design specifications and program team requirements in conformity with OFA standards.
  • Responsible for Oracle database Re-Org.
  • Recovered Oracle databases in scenarios like block corruptions, disk failures, machine movements and switching databases to different clusters.
  • Analyzed tables and indexes of Oracle database periodically for better performance.
  • Planned time, people, machines to carry out the contingency test every six months to check the backups.
  • Extensively involved in Oracle database export, imports.
  • Performed day to day backup operations using RMAN and monitored & run Hot/ Cold Backup scripts, Incremental backup scripts etc
  • Applied patches in Oracle database.
  • Identified the frequently used procedures and pin it in the shared pool.
  • Designed and coded Oracle database server side Stored Procedures, Packages and Triggers.
  • Successfully completed database migration task from 7.X to 8.i and 8.i to 9.i using SQL-Loader.
  • Implemented scripts to add and resize data files to avoid errors in naming conventions, to generate report, which reflect changes in parameter file.
