LGV 1 Driver (Nov 2007 - Present)
In November 2007 transferred to the primary division of KNDL. Duties here involve deliveries to large wholesalers, supermarket RDC’s and KNDL distribution centres within a 200 mile radius. We currently work on a rolling shift that operates between 11pm and 7am. We are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of load, self and property. Loads can vary from palletised products to free standing items which can be unstable. On a daily basis we are required to use and be fully conversant with digital tachographs. Due to my accident free record and customer orientated skills I was recommended by senior managers to become one of the companies LGV Driving Assessors. As part of this additional responsibility I have assessed many agency drivers and new starters. In addition I have completed the NVQ Level 2 for Driving Goods Vehicles.
Drayman (Feb 2003 – Nov 2007)
As a drayman duties included timed deliveries of a wide range of products to over 3000 pubs, clubs and wholesalers within a sixty mile radius. All of these deliveries were governed by stringent time windows and involved a high level of manual handling, sometimes in excess of 20 tonnes per day. These various accounts were rural, town or city centre deliveries. As a driver we were the first point of contact for clients of our company, so professionalism, customer service and a positive attitude were paramount. On many occasions I was rewarded verbally and financially by KNDL due to customer recommendation.
