Jan 2007 to Jan 2009 PROJECT ACCOUNTANT INT TRUST CO
Dominion Fiduciary Services Group Limited
DFSG Ltd is essentially the back office for pension plans and employment benefit trusts (EBT's) for various hedge funds and some private clients. On joining DFSG there was an enormous backlog of financial statements that needed preparing and finalising in certain specialised areas. At that time I filled the role of project accountant for the company.
My work was initially a number crunching exercise; the re-computation of loan interest and formulation of final accounts. I formed part of a team which was set up with its goal to exit and terminate certain tax plans. This project took the best part of eight months.
The closure of more complex Offshore Investment Plans.
This consisted of working through a maze of legal issues along with all the onerous regulatory compliance that goes with it. I needed to prepare accounts that complied with UK GAAP. A certain amount of tax work was carried out (CT600 returns) and prolonged correspondence with the UK tax authorities ensued before we finally got the all clear for the closure of these complex entities.
I worked closely with a team manager formulating minutes for termination of companies in very careful order.
Further Tax Work
I had some exposure to the preparation of SE200 Trust returns for Trusts tax comps and use of tax relief in order to diminish tax liabilities.
Accounts Preparation and Review Work
Once tax work was complete I joined the accounts team for the preparation of Trust, Employment Benefit Trusts, Pension Plans and Company accounts. I carried out review work of some Company and Trust accounts preparation in order to show that that they complied with & UK accounting standards and showed a true and fair view at their balance sheet date.
All relevant accountancy trust work from preparation to review stage
Dealing with budgetary issues
Some complex tax work and normal tax forms filing.
SEPT 2005 TO JAN 2007 SELF-EMPLOYED ACCOUNTANT SOLE TRADER

NOV 1999 to JAN 2005 DIRECTOR TRUST COMPANY
C.I. Law Trust Group Limited
Qualified as an ACCA in January 2000. Then I moved on to head a small accounts department. Tasks included ensuring that book-keeping and accounts preparatory work was up to date as far as could conceivably be possible. I carried out some compliance and anti-money laundering work. I also filled the post of deputy MLRO for the company.
I resigned as a director of C.I. Law in December 2004 when it became apparent that the company was not going to obtain its Regulatory Trust licence.
