An ambitious, reliable and enthusiastic electrical engineering technician with over 20 years experience in the supply and distribution of electricity.
After passing entrance examinations followed by an interview by a panel of industry specialists was selected for a craft apprenticeship by the local area power generation and distribution supplier (NEEB), employed in the maintenance/restoration department responsible for fault finding and repair of both HV (up to 22kV) and LV (up to 415V) ensuring the restoration of supplies to customers was achieved by studying the network schematics and re-routing supplies or carrying out permanent repair.
 
Achievements:
As the Highway Lighting Coordinator all reported faults were identified on schematics, risk assessed and repaired as defined within the service level agreement held with the local authorities.
All reported voltage anomalies were managed and rectified within the guaranteed timescale laid out in company standards and procedures.
In charge of subcontracted staff ensuring all work carried out is to company safety standards.
Progressed career through a process of recommendations and selection panels gaining promotion to a Supervisory level, supervising a team of 10 people.

Subcontractor Contracts and Vendor Supervisor CE Electric UK 2003 - 2009:
Ensuring that invoices received into the company were input within the agreed service level agreement.
Ensuring that payments to suppliers were made within the specified payment terms
Dealing with suppliers regarding payment queries, Construction Industry status etc. via telephone, letter or email.
Calculating monthly payments to HMRC regarding the CIS tax deductions made against subcontractor payments.
Producing detailed reports of invoices processed, money paid (via cheque and BACS), VAT claimed on a monthly basis, retention money held on major projects etc. 
Transferring money between specific bank accounts within the company to maximise interest profit (multi million pound transactions done via Lloydslink)
Give guidance of company procedures and on job training to juniors/new staff 
 
HV Control Admin Northern Electric Distribution Ltd 2003:
Responsible for the update of fault logs and all reported High Voltage outages over the previous 24 hour period.
Update the electronic plan system to show new substations, equipment etc. that have been added to the system by the engineering staff during planned outages.
 
 
 
Highway Lighting Supervisor Northern Electric Distribution Ltd 2002:
Liaise with local authorities in the diagnosing and repair faults to highway lighting, street signs and motorway lighting in a timely manner.
Prepare network schematics and carry out preliminary testing diagnosing and identifying fault location in preparation of follow up by jointing teams.
 
LV/HV Cable Jointer Northern Electric Distribution Ltd 1992 -2002:
Ensure all works carried out adhere to company and legislative regulations
Maintain underground network integrity, locate, manage and carry out fault repairs.
Fault finding using various electronic fault location equipment such as Bicotest T511 Faultman Cable Fault Locator, SRS p240 and Radiodetection gear.
Detecting fault locations using both system diagrams and mains records based on the ordnance survey maps.
Conduct routine planned maintenance on various switchgear equipment e.g. Merlin Gerin up to 22kV, and Saif fuse ways up to 415V
Following risk assessment and company procedures carry out live jointing repairs to 415V.
Using system diagrams implement risk assessment mitigation i.e. isolating damaged cable via fuse carriers in the local substation or feeder pillars

Involved in ongoing upgrade of metering arrangements, by removing defective / dated meters, installing the latest metering technology.
