About Me

 

I have worked at Perry Common J&I School for a number of years. First I started working as a Dinner Supervisor in the nursery department. This envolved me not only taking the children safely to lunch but to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children at all times during lunch time. I also was responsible for the children in the playground were I had different games that I set out for the children to play with each day. I was taught how to play the games myself during a Teacher Training session and we were also taught about child safety. I loved this job but I decided that I wanted to help the children more ,i then decided that I wanted to work in a classroom environment.

 

I went to college along side working as a Lunch Time Supervisor and studied Teaching Assistant Level 2.The course was hard work but I really 

enjoyed it 350 hours in the classroom and 10 months on the course. I loved it so much I work on my placement for over 600 hours even though I still had course work to complete and three of my own children to take care of.

 

I completed the course on time and then I was told that if I wanted to do Teaching Assistant Level 3 in the September,i had to have Level 2 maths and english. During the 6 week holidays I went to Learn Direct and passed Literacy Level 1 & 2.

 

Then in September I started the Teaching Assistant Level 3 course and as well as doing 350 hours placement I took an evening course in Numeracy which by March

 

2010 I managed to pass Level 2 (O.C.R).

 

I have now completed all my studying and I am proud to say that ,I'm now a fully qualified Teaching Assistant Level 3.

 

I feel that I am 

a very friendly easy to get on with person ,who is never late and always polite to others. I think that I am a good listener who will always give help to people who asks me for help ,i will also offer my help to children who I think might need it. If I was concerned about a child then I would discuss this with the appropriate colleague as I feel I'm good as a team member.

 

Having three children of my own ages 16,13 and 11, I feel that I get on with children very well. I understand that children's needs differ according to their age,needs and abilities.
