CAREER HISTORY
 
SELF EMPLOYED, NATION WIDE 1984-PRESENT
Sound Engineer
Responsible for supplying, setting up and controlling sound equipment for numerous local and established 
Bands, conferences and fashion shows. I have also been involved in the design and installation of a wide
range of equipment in a variety of venues.
 
GEARHOUSE L.L.C. (DUBAI) 1997-1999
Deputy Manager / Sound Engineer
Responsible for the day to day running of a busy sound reinforcement department.
Duties included site assessment and quoting for shows, customer care, company representative, sales and marketing, logistics co-ordinater, re-development of existing equipment, buying and selling of equipment, 
training and developing of new and existing staff.
Sound engineering, sound consultant, systems technician, multi track recording, sound editing (digital and
analog) preparing and maintaining equipment, wiring and technical problem solving. I was also responsible
for the entering and shipping of equipment using a computer based custom-built stock control system.
I also provided back up for lighting and video departments, gaining valuable experience in these fields.
 
THE LEADMILL LTD,   1996-1997
Head Sound Engineer
Responsible for setting up and engineering (front of house and monitors) for a wide variety of live bands on
two stage areas, maintaining sound equipment, buying and selling equipment, installing new equipment,
wiring and technical problem solving.
 
AUDIO CONTROL,   1993-1995
Assistant Manager Designate
Deputising for managing director, controlling office and warehouse, customer care, sales, invoicing, buying 
and selling equipment, logistics and hiring staff. Sound engineering FOH or Monitors on numerous international tours. Preparing and maintaining equipment, wiring and technical problem solving.
 
RADIO HALLAM (LATER AUDIONICS LTD) 1986-1993
Duties included designing, building and installing broadcast studios and equipment, e.g. for the BBC, Radio Hallam/ Hallam FM, Radio Cambridge, Pennine and Viking Radio Studios. Trained to design and build
mains audio wiring to BBC standard. Manufacturing and assembling printed circuit boards, metalwork, 
screen printing, equipment prototyping, stock control and delivering and installing equipment.

Sound Engineer
Responsible for setting up, controlling and maintaining sound equipment. (This was voluntary work)
 
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
 
For two long weekends per year, I was Technical Director with Soundcraft Electronics Ltd, responsible for
Liasing with P.A. companies and course Co-ordinators. Other duties included System Technician,
Monitor Engineer, I also performed the role of Tutor, teaching all standards. This was part of “Going Live”
Seminars, for people who wished to learn how to set up P.A. systems and control front of house and monitor systems to a professional standard. I have also done extensive conference work, including Live Audio / Visual Satellite Links.
 
During the period 1984-Present, I worked with many rising and established bands in the capacity of Company Representative, Front of House / Monitor Engineer and System Technician.

I also took total charge of sound systems at the “Youth Olympics” (Bath 1995), a festival featuring WEAPONS OFSOUND, THE COUNTERFIT STONES, THE BOOT LEG BEATLES, and the opera diva MONSERAT, providing front of house and monitor systems and audio feeds to the BBC and several mobile recording studios. I have been involved in the sound production at many of the annual festivals, and
also provided the equipment for two twelve-hour parties at Prestwick airport, featuring eleven bands at 
each event.
 
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
To relax I like socialising, playing pool, films, eating out, history, traveling, listening to music and various sports.
