Senior Applications Developer Warner Bros 2004 to 2010
Initially contracted as a senior applications developer to support and enhance the Video Film Distribution System (VFDS), which was written in COBOL. Employed on a permanent basis in 2006 to learn and thereafter support the video accounting system.
• Designed, developed, and implemented a reporting suite of programs that interfaced to various 3rd party organisations detailing their products transactional information including, sales units and value, returns and outstanding PO's. This was a legal requirement and was time critical.
• Gathered business requirements and produced technical specifications to a detailed level so that offshore support could code any changes required.
• Designed, developed and implemented a global interface between the in house distribution system and the Burbank based financial system, which was installed in 27 territories worldwide removing the need of the existing accounting system.
• Supported and enhanced the Video accounting system which was Sarbanes Oxley compliant, ensuring accounting figures were reported to head office at month end in a timely manner.
• Performed data analysis and system integration testing between the various in house systems.
• Assisted in the migration from the legacy distribution systems to the chosen SAP systems.
• Represented the team in change control board meetings and conference calls to the Burbank head office to discuss global implications.

Contracted as a senior applications developer to perform and test euro changes on the High Interest Current Account system (HICA), which was written in Cobol. Progressed to team leader where responsibilities included the work allocation to a team of 5 contracted programmers, live system support, software enhancements and deployment, training and interviewing new team members, producing technical specifications and business requirement analysis.
• Enhanced the system to allow for the introduction of the euro.
• Supported and where necessary enhanced the system for Y2K.
