Looking for a challenging position of the Web Architect Resume the reputed University with a view to use my wide experience for the benefit of the organization.
I am an architect with considerable experience.
The number of projects I have undertaken is numerous, in a range of sectors including Residential, Leisure, Education, Healthcare, Commercial and Industrial. This includes new buildings, alterations and extensions to existing and conservation work to listed buildings
A CDM-Coordinator (planning supervisor) from 1996. Assoc. of Project Safety (APS) in 2002.
Passed April 2007 Health and Safety exam and qualified as an RMaPS with Assoc of Project Safety
I have good organisational skills learnt from training courses and experience.
Accredited with well developed negotiation skills. Considered to have a better than usual likelihood of success with statutory authorities and the speed with which I get agreement and approvals.
Given training to designers as an architect, on meeting their CDM obligations.
I create well designed projects delivered on time, on budget. Clients have expressed their satisfaction with my work.
I enjoy working as part of a team with consultants and contractors though have also taken a leadership role, inspiring others.

Career Summary.
2005-Present Day. Multi-disciplinary Design Practice, Yorkshire. Architect and CDM coordinator. As an architect I was given autonomy to handle the projects from inception to completion. In later years these were larger scaled projects. Involved in the whole range of work including procurement, management, fees, design and the building of projects, though the extent of my involvement varies on each. Also of some supporting, training and managing design staff. Advising on administration and advancement of projects. I undertake initial stages with the client, agreeing the project appointment and fees, preparing a design and obtain planning and building regulation approval. Due to workload sometimes project manage on site. I have prepared construction drawings and followed on with project management on site.
Of a variety of projects one was the multi-million pound Golden Sands Leisure Centre with pools, play water features, cafe, bars, restaurant, gymnasium, spa, shops and treatment facilities with a range of tonal treatments. Externally the provision of outside courts, pitches, children's internal and external play facilities, some set in landscaped gardens. Other projects included a self catering complex of 13 individual family units with attractive central facilities for dining: negotiations with Housing Authorities for new developments; conversion of barns and new buildings to meet exacting planning requirements for new leisure and catering facilities; marketing the practice; design of a visitor centre; conversion of a dwelling; to indicate a few.
As a CDM-Coordinator undertook all appointments awarded to the office. Involved in about 20 projects some large, such as new leisure complexes with a wide range of facilities and some high risk such as work on railway stations
2002-5. Spawforth's Architect's Practice, Leeds, Yorkshire. Senior Architect.
Of two major projects I took responsibility for the first was a new state of the art Primary Care Centre at Ackworth, for the Primary Care Trust. A large doctor's surgery with wide range of support facilities, pharmacy, treatments rooms, dentistry and tutorial groups. The second an innovative design for a social and residential complex for mentally disturbed children in its own substantial grounds The Pennine Community Centre. Both clients pleased with the results sought further contracts from the Practice. I was responsible for technicians.
2000-2. Smith Smalley Architects Practice, Harrogate, Yorkshire. Head of Housing Section.
Appointed to develop Housing Section. Won new appointments including £1.25m. refurbishment of a Grade 2 star Listed Victorian Fort and conversion for residential accommodation. Office Buildings with Housing on the same site; a complex for 20 Houses in a conservation village; design for a £1.5m. Bottling Plant for soft drinks. Housing. A block of flats for a Housing Association. Other smaller projects.
1984-2000. My Own Architect's Practice. Principal.
Major projects included winning local government competition design entry of new £4 million, 22 Lane Indoor Bowling Centre with shops, restaurant, cafe, bar and night club including restoration of an old music hall pavilion. A new £3.5million covered Ice Rink with supporting facilities of shop, hire shop, keep fit suite and bar. A Swimming Leisure Complex of Pools with shops, restaurant and related facilities that did not proceed. Restoration of a Palmerston Fort for 500 troops converted to multi-purpose entertainment centre with educational museum of visiting display's and exhibitions, craft centre, cinema, café, bar and night club.
Other projects included conversion of listed building to Wine Bar; 15 Flats for a Housing Association; Old People's Housing Complex; design of 186 houses with a national developer on a valuable waterfront site; conversion to a new Community Hall; Housing Estates for developers; conversion of a large building into smart flats in central London and Individual Dwellings including a Barn Conversion. Housing Associations, particularly the largest in the area, Medina Housing Association appointed me regularly for a variety of work. A Doctors Surgery. Maintenance and care of 13 churches including the restoration of a 12th century listed church and related buildings including renovation of a large church hall on a difficult conservation site, community centres and schools. Also conditions and dilapidations surveys.
Interests.
I am a sailing instructor sailing a fast handicap dinghy. I regularly go running and fell walking. I have travelled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle and Far East and the Himalaya Mountains. In association with the RIBA and American Institute of Architects I made a documentary film of American Architecture in California interviewing and filming the high profile Practices there. I value my contacts with the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Association of Project Safety as an effective way of keeping up to date with training and Continuing Professional Development. I was recently invited by the Royal Institute of British Architects to sit on one of their committees, to advise, at their HQ in London and the Association of Project Safety asked me to sit on a regional Health and Safety committee to support training and lectures.
