I work an Assessment manager for one of their branch. I perform staff assessment, training and development review as well as carrying out all range of development task within the branch. In addition to that I was responsible for the assessment and care planning of client to whom the agency provided care services to. This includes carrying out a number of risk assessment and moving and handling assessment. Working closely with Social workers, physiotherapist and Occupational Therapy department to ensure the home environment had adequate services as well as handling equipment and was safe for our care staff. Carrying out reviews to ensure that the system put in place was up-to-date with regards to the service uses needs. I was also responsible as key trainer to deliver moving and handling training and Basic First Aid as well as staff supervision, appraisals.

I have worked in the Radiology department at Ashford and ST Peters hospital as a nurse manager, my duties includes team leading, auditing, performing research and project development. This involved various staff development projects as well as developing a new conscious sedation policy for the department and wider hospital trust. Performing staff reviews and development to meet their individual training and performance needs using the national KSF standards. I take part in mentoring and teaching as well as budgeting and planning. My role also frequently involves clinical tasks such as assisting with procedures, administering safe sedation and monitoring of patient intra operatively as well as performing post op assessment, planning and evaluation of care needs.

Through my work career I have always been a hard working and outgoing person. I have gained great achievement in the courses I have undertaken, I am very enthusiastic and look forward to new exciting challenges. I have shown that I am flexible, reliable and responsible. I am prepared to do a demanding job and I thrive in a dynamic environment where there are always lots of people. I work well in a team as well as using my own initiative and enjoy helping people and solving any problems that occur. My role was to head the team I was chosen out of a group of 16 applicants. My team includes 4 deputy managers, 2 supervisors and 60 care workers. I was responsible to ensure that the organization meets it responsibilities in relation to Care Standard Regulation, Health and Safety at work act, Manual Handling Regulations, Equal opportunities in service delivery and to the workers and all other regulatory requirements. I also had the responsibility to apply for contract, reviewing and maintaining contracts according to contractors requirement, and facilitate reviews of the organization policies and procedures to the requirements of the contract and registration authorities. In order for the organization to meet our requirements of the contractor and registration it was necessary to have various policies and procedures, hence I continuously write policies, reviews and up date them to meet changes with legislati
on and practice. I am capable of writing and delivering my own training around handling and moving, First Aid, Infection Control and most aspects of caring for the Acutely ill Adult.
