Key Activities Advice  Respond to site teams in providing safety advice specific to their Project needs.  Actively identify areas for improvement and contribute to development of improvement plans  Ensure that site teams are proactive, up to date and comply with legislation, and company and Client initiatives relating to safety, health and the environment. Represent B&L as required on Client and inter-company construction Safety forums Audit  Undertake management audits of the safety, health and the environment processes applied by B&L.  Communicate the findings and assist in the development of localised improvement plans. Inspection  Undertake observational audits of the delivery of safety,health and the environment and measure performance where B&L acts as Principal Contractor Communicate the findings and assist in the development of localised improvement plans. Training  Increase safety, health and environmental awareness amongst employees and others by both formal and informal training techniques and coaching sessions.  Deliver regular Safety Training (BSC NVQ1; Manual Handling; Risk Assessment Awareness Course and Toolbox talks). Investigation  Investigation of incidents to establish the root cause and preventative measures  Communicate the findings and assist in the development of localised improvement plans.
Project Delivery and Improvement  Develop and maintain a ‘continuous improvement’ ethos in the approach to safety, health and environmental issues.
Ensure site based management are focused on delivering a safe working environment. Participate in the development of safety, health and the environment management systems and actively disseminate these. Help in identifying how safetyhealth and environmental issues impact on key site processes, ensuring that these are taken account of to improve rather than constrain the business.
Business Development ï‚• Help represent and promote the organisation's safety performance to third parties (e.g. Clients and HSE) so that safety is perceived as a world class given within the project(s). Culture ï‚• Support the organisational processes and cultures so that safety, health and environmental issues are not a disqualifying function in the pursuit of business opportunities and improvements are driven into all the products and services that Bryen and Langley deliver by every member of the team.
