Senior Management of a technical team of 45 staff (with 7 direct reports) organised into Project Specific groups responsible for the Integration and Verification (Test and Systems Proving) of ‘SDH and IP/Data Platforms’ and ‘DWDM Optical’ products to specified requirements. CAPEX and Materials - financial responsibility up to 1.8m. 
 
Planned and managed major site moves and a 50% headcount reduction, establishing a new team, in support of Business consolidation – including a complex network test environment [laboratory area 750 square metres]. 
Implemented and delivered new ‘Agile’ ways of working achieving improved software product quality and delivery times. 
Senior management of a high achieving team focused on the development of software/scripts to automate the testing of complex network scenarios with the management of Network Elements and test equipment. 
Senior Management of Customer Support for the UK Product Development Unit addressing complex customer problems and escalations from customer Market Units. Financial responsibility in 2007 = 500k, a budget consisting of Software and Maintenance charges, Materials and 3rd Party charges for outsourcing. 
 
Innovative approach to mechanical cost reduction, re-engineering designs and changing fabrication techniques to consistently achieve 50% cost reductions. 
Leadership of the Technical relationships with CAD tool vendors – negotiating cost reduced support contracts (10% Y.o.Y. reduction) and Software tool enhancements. 
Significantly upgraded the UK eCAD and mCAD tools and collaborated with ex-Marconi Design Centres in relation to Tools and Methods for PCB and Mechanical Design in order to standardise ways of working. 
Introduced physical 3D modelling into design process achieving improved mechanical proto-type validation and reduced lead time and proto-typing costs. 
Established thermal simulation capability for enhanced design robustness. 
Management of the Businesses Product Data Management team. 
Presented Marconi’s mechanical equipment methodology to Ericsson’s annual mechanical design and building practice conference in Gothenburg (audience 100+)
