Job Title/Description: Analytical Support Officer
Working within the Commissioning Analysis and Intelligence Branch and also alongside the Public Health Observatories to help produce health investment packs and E- Guides for all PCTs (Primary Care Trusts) across the UK. 
Analysing data to determine top 10-15 health outcomes from all PCT across the UK, by producing reports and v-lookup tables to determine the appropriate data. 
Calculating base case based on historical trends and growth rate change forecasts for future years including forecasting mortality rates for PCT populations. Tools uses are mainly excel including, vlookup, pivot tables and calculating formula
Extracting and manipulating HES (Hospital Episodic Statistics) Data by the means of Microsoft Access (tables and queries) and importing data/reports to excel files. Access was also used for updating IVET (Inpatient Variation Expenditure Tool).

Providing support for the projects software enhancement UNIFY 2 (Largest Data Collection Tool within the Department of Health). UNIFY2 is the main online data collection portal used by the NHS to collect and share performance information, aggregate data and statutory returns. 
NHS Staff training and additional support– Providing training for PCTs (Primary Care Trusts), SHAs (Strategic Health Authorities) and the NHS.
Planning and shadow writing test scripts for core modules
Data analysis - Understanding the process and provision of statistical data stored in UNIFY and the process undergone to extract this data to the appropriate user (SHA or PCT).
Support documentation - Writing training manuals/ user manuals for the UNIFY2 enhancement project as well as updating existing processes and procedures.
