Airwave Solutions was set up by BT to build and operate a TETRA Cellular communications system intended for Police, Ambulance and Fire Services.

Production Test Engineer Trilogy Communications Ltd. Oct 2007 – Dec 2007
Trilogy Communications provide Audio communications Solutions for TV Studios, Emergency Control Rooms, and armed forces. I was on a contract testing their Mercury VOIP product which is a Windows XP driven VOIP multiplexer. The system allows voice transmissions over POST, Cellular phone, PMR and two way radios to be seamlessly taken and connected to one another.

My sole trader consultancy and contracting company. My main client throughout this period was Last Mile Communications. Last Mile began as a two person unit. Played a significant part in their growth to 50 people with customers such as Qinetiq, BAE Systems and Halfords as well as one of the world’s leading automotive OEMs.
Successfully negotiated and managed working relationships on behalf of client with wide range of regulatory bodies (e.g. Ofcom, DfT, and Highways Agency) and potential customers (e.g. Halfords, leading automotive and transportation manufacturers including BAE (Miltrans) and QinetiQ).
Provided technical input for MMWave device commercial & product specifications for aftermarket sales (e.g. Halfords) and OEM Specification
Project managed the on-site selection parameters for municipal WIFI project & design input on street corner designs.

Auto-Q International offered standard and bespoke vehicle tracking and monitoring solutions using GPS satellite location and GSM / GPRS mobile phone technology.
Ran an update program on vehicle tracking systems from a company Auto-Q acquired and managed a team of installers.
Updated over 250 customer vehicles organised replacement of existing system and upgrading of returns to new specification
Project Manager Dolphin Telecommunications Limited Jun1999 - Aug 2001
Dolphin built and operated a commercial TETRA Cellular network. I was in charge of their ‘RAKE’ project to deal with interference problems between TETRA networks and Vehicle RF keys used for Central Locking & Alarms.
Managed a process that resolved interference problems on over 100 sites.
Ran an industry PR campaign to persuade Motor Manufacturers to improve their radio key receiver technology working with Aston , Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Peugeot, Toyota and others.
Involved using Spectrum Analysers, Signal generators, Oscilloscopes and a ‘tame’ site & transmitter
Successfully lobbied for changes to Receiver standards legislation and caused the Low Power sector to improve their products.
