SKILLS
IT, Media and Design
I have skills and experience in shooting stills and colour correcting images in Photoshop. Since I began part time work in a small photo lab during my sixth form study I developed an interest in photography and media. I learned how to develop photographs and use the store’s digital cameras before I studied Media Production at College. Here, I studied and worked on aspects focusing on web design, desktop publishing, radio and television journalism, photography, and filmmaking. I have worked individually and amongst teams to create videos, web, magazines, and photographic art portfolios. I am able to use software such as Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and desktop publishing software among printing and art materials. I have applied freehand artwork into imaging software in order to develop magazine covers, DVD covers, POS displays and posters.
I have used film and digital SLR cameras, and have used lomography for the promotion of musicians. Some of my lomography images can be found at http://www.ataraxisvibration.webs.com/apps/photos; a promotional website for a small rock band. I have also worked on the videography and photography focusing on models during a two-day fashion show. I continue to use my own equipment and software to make photography and film projects for clients in my spare time.
Filmmaking
My specialist film areas are Scriptwriting, Cinematography, and Editing. I have worked with a vast amount of people and film equipment since 2004. I have worked using an array of DV cameras and film stock cameras. Regarding film, I can use Final Cut Pro, Avid and Adobe Premier editing software. In the filmmaking processes I have involved myself with projects from start to finish; from the very early pre-production stages, through to the final tweaks in post-production. I have written many premises, outlines and screenplays, and have produced and directed a number of short films. I have organised auditions and shooting dates, risk assessed locations, and completed contracts with contributors. The understanding of filmmaking I gained from college was beneficial at University – my ever-growing interest and experience naturally led to further study and practice; proficiently making a number of short films in small independent teams, in and out of course hours.
