Personal Statement 
Being just twenty one years old, I have come to the end of my university degree at Leeds Metropolitan University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing (Hon’s). 
I consider myself to be hard working, motivated, creative, reliable, academic, optimistic, organised, collaborative and very enthusiastic.

Being involved with business and marketing since GCSE level I have acquired a strong, passionate sense of the topic and have had significant academic experience over the last seven years expanding this into industry taking every opportunity in employment to get involved with marketing related tasks. I am ambitious in my aims to progress as a marketer with dedication, commitment and focus. 
 
Employment Experience 
September 2009 – Present: The Box - Marketing & Student Coordinator and Bar Supervisor (voted best student venue in Leeds and best multiple operator). Not only am I employed here as a bar supervisor but I also conduct and assist inmarketing projects and campaigns for Arc Inspirations as Marketing and Student Coordinator. 
Key Achievements: 
•Creation of new schemes (events/promotions): Enhance customer interaction, awareness, attract a wider range of customers and develop new target segments. This allowed the Box to expand and diversify their base to increase levels of loyalty from a wider market, utilising their assets. 
•I organised the team trip/day out and party for all of my colleagues as well as recently being able to develop the new menu. 
•Extracting qualitative and quantitative data acquired through various primary research and secondary research methods, identifying consumer wants. 
•Primary research (competitor analysis) consisting on both quantitative and qualitative data to understand the consumer, characteristics, price willingness and behavioural characteristics. 
•Student Coordinator tasks include: Fresher’s week preparation, creating and providing promotional products (fresher’s packs, coupons, offers, calenders), weekly promotional schedule, promotions team & rota, liasing/meeting with potential clients and external companies an database construction/management 
•Employee bar training and construction on the Arc Inspirations newsletter 
 
June 09 – September 09: I was involved with promotions, marketing and sales with a number of clubs based in Leeds. I was required to travel (within a team) to the horse races around the UK and promote nights and provide incentives to potential clients. 
Key Achievements: 
•Expansion of customer base from a variety of geographical regions 
•Increase in customer loyalty 
 
August 2006-September 2008: Morrison’s; Lutterworth, Leics. Trained as a cashier supervisor and checkout/kiosk operator where I picked up many skills during my employment including a strong insight into customer behaviour and interaction. 
 
Voluntary Work 
2009: I provided marketing tactics, advice and promotional ideas to a successful fast food chain (Lucky’s) to raise awareness as well as identify and attract a specific market segment using marketing communications and promotional campaigns. 
Jan – July 2007: I coached an under 15’s basketball team and was required to take control and run the team myself. I was in charge of financing, scheduling, management and the coaching itself and through this I acquired independence and leadership. 
2005-07: I was required to coach the Lutterworth college basketball team personally as well as being captain using my experience/skills to train and lead the team. 
 
Leisure Activities 
Summer 2009: I went on a road trip from Leicester, UK to the south of France spending two days kayaking over twenty miles across the Ardeche River in Vallon Pont D’arc. This required substantial planning and motivational/team work skills. 
Summer 2008: I travelled around Europe for one month (18 destinations in 10 countries). An overwhelming experience which gave me valuable insight into different cultures, attitudes and gave me strength in my independence and confidence requiring planning, team work, enthusiasm, optimism and a proactive attitude. 
Hobbies: Enthusiastic indoor/outdoor boulderer/rock climber (learning belaying) as well as Basketball (Leeds Met 2nd) and Snowboarding (LMU Snowsports).
