Duties involved the full Plant & Transport support for our sister company Amec Utilities to ensure the smooth running oftheir term contracts with Transco. This included the setting up of a team, made up of administration staff, with no previous experience this field of operation (5no. Hire Controllers & 3 Admin Staff). Managing the running of a busy plant & vehicle workshop (1 Workshop Foreman & 10 fitters).
My own duties included developing annual budget forecasts, both short term & long term & ensuring that we met & surpassed all forecasts.

Worked, on contract to Thames Water. I took my areas from having the largest outstanding reinstatement backlog to the smallest & then initiated & planned the move to “first time reinstatement”. This involved liaising with the general public & all inner Councils to make sure all reinstatements were carried out rapidly & with minimal disturbance.
First Time Reinstatement was the concept of time & money saving & minimising disturbance to both road traffic & pedestrians.
 
Started as Hire Controller for  , promoted to Senior Hire Controller for the South of England. Amec Plant & Transport Ltd. August 1989 - April 1994.
Dealing with our internal customers to make sure the received the correct top quality equipment for their contract. When & where they wanted it. Making sure that the contracts were able to keep to pre-determined time-scales & within budgetary restrictions.
