Audio Visual Manager (The Oxford Belfry Hotel: Jun 2009 – Oct 2009) 
Full time temporary contract in the Oxford Belfry Hotel and Conference Centre. Responsible for day to day installation, operation and de-rig of Audio Visual equipment for conferences, exhibitions, award ceremonies and other events. Also the planning, quotation, alteration and confirmation of larger events, update of the AV booking sheet for both AV company and hotel finance departments, fully detailed weekly invoicing, stock checking, administration tasks, elements of hospitality, attending hotel meetings daily and function sheet meetings weekly, extra equipment and staff requests (from HQ or sister hotels) and maintenance of all equipment. Equipment used includes: Projectors, screens, PA systems of all sizes, generic lighting, staging, set packages, plasma screens, conference phones, radio mics, PCs and of course flipcharts and other conference specifics. A close working environment meant liaising with sales, finance, housekeeping and reception departments and assisting restaurant, maintenance and operations departments frequently. This role also included some off-site work moving equipment and rigging at other venues from time to time. 
I.T Customer Services Executive (Lambda-Tek: Jan 2008 – Feb 2009)
Processing orders including taking payments, giving refunds, tracking deliveries etc, thorough security checking to combat Internet fraud & therefore verification of repeat clients. Technical, compatibility, stock management, administration and information request support by phone and email and keeping up to date with the latest technology in order to advise customers. Maintaining relationships with distribution suppliers and manufacturers and assisting in creating specification of custom PC builds as well as helping to build, secure and maintain the company's I.T infrastructure for this Internet based PC & AV component re-seller. 
Freelance Technician & Project Manager (Freelance & on-going: May 2001 – Jan 2011) 
Project manager for Expo stalls at ExCel & NEC. Road manager and crew sound technician for contemporary rock band. General prep & get-in /out tech & operator freelancing for A.V, I.T (all), specific audio, screens, staging, theatre and production companies Inc MTV. The importance of customer service in this field cannot be underestimated as these impressive events must happen as the “show must go on”. Attention to all details imperative.

Full time contract for AVSC Europe working in The Oxford Hotel & Cranmer Conference Centre; rigging, operating and maintaining AV equipment for conferences, meetings and award ceremonies. Other tasks included elements of sales, hospitality, working closely with other hotel departments including Conference & Banqueting, and controlling the site’s staffing, stocks and budget. Frequent liaison with clients and customer service follow up also included as well as extensive administration and hotel teamwork responsibilities. 
 
Theatrical Technical Director (The Henley College: Sept 2002 – Feb 2004) 
Full time contract. Tasks included rigging and operation of stage lights and sound equipment, set construction, student supervision / assistance and some maintenance work for performing arts department. Management of department stocks, equipment, purchasing and admin. 
 
Technical Director and Lead Guitarist (Theatre : July 2003 – Sept 2004) 
One-off contract with touring theatre company for duration of the Edinburgh Fringe festival, working on the ‘American tribal love-rock musical: Hair’. Duties included; lead guitar for 3 hour show, technical supervision of ‘get in’ and ‘get out’, supervision of younger cast members, some administrative, liaison, and sales tasking and also marketing endeavours. 
 
DFTS Helpdesk (BT Defence: March 2001 – April 2001) 
Temporary contract dealing with incoming service order requests for military telecommunications relocation, installation and cessation. Duties included order processing, frontline facsimile cover and various administrative tasks including filing, file management (storage, location, destruction and correlation between physical and computerised details) and data entry.

* Music, lead guitar, singer, song writer in several gigging bands. Guitar, bass and piano lessons. I have used some MIDI & music editing packages e.g. Cubase, VST, Reason, Renoise, Music Maker, WAV editor, and I am using a multitrack recorder at home. I also teach guitar and bass. 
* Technical engineering for sound, light, projection, multi-plasma display walls and stage including semi-professional gigging band (Headlove). * Also mechanical engineering with classical car restoration on my 1961 MGA sports car. 
* Sailing: Ex Henley-On-Thames Royal Naval Sea Cadet Corps including power boat handling as well as canoeing, rifle shooting and radio communications. 
* Computing & Custom PCs: experience with; Apple Macintosh O.S 7.0 – New, Microsoft DOS (all versions), and Windows 3.1, NT, ‘95, ’98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista & 7. Plus most standard packages such as Word, Excel (Office), Access, Messengers (various), PowerPoint, etc. Also some programming, html, editing, internet fraud detection and electronic pay systems practice.
