Skills
Communicative- Through customer experience, and my time as a active fundraiser at Pell & Bales, I have developed a level of people skills and can communicate confidently with any persons, be they fundraisers or Managerial colleagues. Through using the phone on various charity campaigns I have spoken to those of all walks of life, and have grown to be empathetic and hopefully engaging through respectful, tactful and professional conversation.
Technical- I am competently able to use PC’s, and have transferable skills with programmes on Microsoft Office 2007 (including Word, Excel & PowerPoint)along with editing programmes for camera footage. Since working at Pell & Bales, I am both familiar and competent in using the programmes used for our work, including the T-point system, and have done some office administration to advance company successes. Taken from my course I am also able to use large DV cameras to some capacity and am familiar with scriptwriting software such as final draft, and editing software such as Avid. I helped to film/produce two amateur documentaries in my video production course, plus during the summer of 2008 I shot a three minute trailer for a competition with Sony.
Customer service- I have worked in restaurants and in retail so I have experience in dealing with problems, queries and making sure my service is at a high standard.
Observational- On two occasions now I have experienced jury service at ‘Luton Crown Court’ where I took responsibility of helping to deliberate on verdicts and with this acting as the foreman in court. Equally I have a strong love for films, whether I am watching and analysing them for educational or personal purposes.
Literary-I enjoy reading different forms of literature and practising writing as I hope to, in later life become a Director/scriptwriter of short films in my spare time as hobby, which became part of my University degree when I completed my first full feature length script.
