The main purpose of my role is to create successful marketing campaigns with the aim of increasing the awareness and sales of Shearings holidays and hotels. Working closely with the Head of Sales and Marketing, the in house graphic design team and external printers and fulfilment houses, this is a varied role whereby I work on various campaigns simultaneously always ensuring that I meet tight deadlines and keep each campaign on budget. My other duties include monitoring and reporting on previous campaigns and analysing their results for use on future campaigns, producing point of sale for travel shops, liaising with our external media agency to book space for national press adverts and consumer and trade magazines, managing and co-ordinating internal brochure launch events and using the in house CRM database to identify new and relevant customer segments for each direct mail campaign.

The main aim of this role was to provide sales support to travel agents nationwide and trade partners, including Cook and The Co-Operative Travel, providing them with special offers, point of sale and monthly sales statistics. My role required me to provide Head Office support to 8 Regional Sales Managers on the road around the UK and increase business and sales through an affiliate programme with other large companies including Bon Marche, Morrisons and Graves. I was also involved in creating and advertising booking incentives to key travel agents to increase sales and revenue and organising in store sales days and events. I was required to attend monthly sales meetings to discuss sales and revenue and plan ahead for the next months’ activity.

The main aim of this role was to provide administration support to the Director of Tourism and assist and support theMarketing Campaign Managers. I worked on the main Visitor Guide to Liverpool and Merseyside, requiring me to contact and sell advertising space to Merseyside’s main attractions and hotels, liaise with the design agency and printers and organise distribution of the guide. I also worked on the design and organisation of stands for key trade exhibitions including World Travel Market and CONFEX, attending the exhibitions when required. Working closely with Liverpool City Council and the Liverpool Culture Club meant ensuring all campaigns and publications were on brand for supporting Liverpool to win the status of Capital of Culture 2008.

This started as a temporary role from University which later became permanent. My main duties included working on a Visitor & Spend Survey being undertaken at some of the North West biggest attractions and events, including Preston’s football museum and Southport’s Air Show. I was responsible for hiring and co-ordinating our researchers to visit the attractions and events, briefing them with their questionnaires and collating the findings once returned.
