Head of the Engineering and Projects team for £200m ICI Paints and Coatings plant, leading mechanical, electrical, control system and civil engineers and technicians, to carry out maintenance, engineering and the implementation of capital projects. Responsible for defining and driving the company‘s maintenance strategy, including overseeing all technical issues as well as directing outsourcing of major works, managing engineering budgets and the stores and spares inventory. Liaising with vendors, contractors and service providers to build and maintain strong professional links, as well as working closely with external organisation, including the international Engineering and HSE functions based in Amsterdam and Singapore. Managed a 36 member electrical maintenance team at Eni Agip's £300m Bhit Gas Processing Plant, including 75MW of 11kV gas turbine power generation, to maximise the availability and reliability of electrical systems. Dealt with daily and medium-term technical issues, major maintenance outsourcing, budgets, spares inventory, plant modifications and vendor liaison, as well as conducting staff performance appraisals, training and routine mentoring. Led the electrical team in the commissioning and execution of the $40m Bhadhra upgrade, involving HV and LV equipment installation, PLC modifications and power generation upgrade by Rolls-Royce Turbine Division, UK
Key Achievements:
Successfully completed the conceptual and FEE design for the $140m Bhit Front End Compression Project ahead of time and well within budget
Lead Eni representative for hazard studies and peer reviews at the Consultant's office (Manchester)
Convinced the country management of Eni Agip to implement RCM in order to optimise maintenance strategy and costs

Assisted the Plant's E&I Manager with planned maintenance, troubleshooting and modifications on the $80m Continuous Polymerization (CP) Plant, 14MW ICI Powergen Plant and 132kV-to-11kV Grid Station. Managed a total of 26 staff, including 2 E&I Engineers, 4 supervisors and 20 technicians, both permanent and on contract
Key Achievements:
Trained the company's technicians to establish in-house competence on a range of low-tech outsourced areas, such as VFDs, Vibration Monitoring, Instrument Calibrations, reducing maintenance spend by 15% for the department in six months
Updated the plant's hazardous area classification drawings in accordance with EN to ensure safety compliance. Also carried out Safety Integrity Level (SIL) analysis on the plant's critical safety instruments

Electrical Engineer
Supervised the Plant's electrical maintenance team, comprising 24 members of staff, for 2 years as a technical lead and section manager - responsible for independent management of the section. Carried out several key improvements to the plant's electrical systems, such as upgrading the power generation control system (Mitsubishi FX2N), installing new Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), electronic parameter monitoring and alarming. Conducted rectification of harmonics problems on 250kW VFDs and upgraded the wellhead solar charge controllers to significantly reduce unplanned plant downtime (25%)
