This has given me experience and confidence in the following software packages: Minitab, Labview, DevC++, MS Publisher, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Paint, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.

Team Work

I enjoy working in a team as well as individually, the practical based aspects of my course involve working closely with other students to plan and conduct experiments. I also worked as an employee for Flutters Bingo where my job involved working closely with up to 11 other employees, another aspect of the job I regularly did required me to work efficiently on my own for several hours at a time. Furthermore in this role I was often shift leader or supervisor so I was responsible for motivating the team and ensuring other members of staff knew their roles and what was expected of them.

I am a very keen sportsman; I have played hockey for Nottingham Trent University, West Bridgeford MHC, Rottweilers of lurve HC,   under 21’s and JCC HC as captain and currently play for Nomads MHC, I feel this greatly helps the development of my ability to work with others effectively, especially as at the larger clubs I have played for several different teams in one season and so shows my ability to work and adapt to work with a very large range of people.

Communication

My work at Flutters bingo involved a lot of communication with the general public as well as several other members of staff. My university work involved a lot of communication, both written and oral with other students and with teaching staff. Thus I am not daunted by the prospect of presenting to people in a more senior role nor to large numbers.

Time Management and Organisation

Maintaining part-time employment as well as extra-curricular interests throughout my
College and University education has helped me to develop my time management and financial
management skills. The ability to meet deadlines is an important part of both my part-time and
University work.
