Career Summary:

I currently work for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, in the Collections Correspondence Department.
My main job role involves, dealing with customers who are in financial difficulties for various reasons; I am polite, sympathetic and professional at all times. I mainly deal with customers, financial third parties, solicitors and accountants, by telephone or
correspondence. I issue account details and collect financial statements (customers, income, expenditure, priority debts and other creditor details). This enables me to decide the best way forward for the customer, either by arranging a fixed payment
arrangement or closing the account and passing it through to the in house Debt Recovery Department.
I use several systems; Word, Excel, Tsys (account data system), Speed Scan (copy statements), Hois (Branch data system), and an Automated Correspondence system. I deal with a variety of different products within the group, so I have to ensure that I am
corresponding using the correct stationery.
Within my job role, I also deal with customers that are classed as ‘At Risk’ where they can be suicidal, have addictions (alcoholism, gambling) suffering from a terminal illness or mental health issues. I deal with these customers in a very sympathetic but professional manner and again I provide the best solution possible for them by gathering required information and requesting relevant documentation to support there current situation.
When other departments are busy, I have helped out within the Collections Concerns Department as well as the Inbound
Telephone Team.
I have also confidently organised staff training with management, pre booked rooms, set up a training programme and trained colleagues to the required standard.
I am currently a reward and recognition representative, this scheme recognises colleagues, who go the extra mile to give a good customer experience/service or assist other colleagues within the group, that have the right vision towards the business and a
Desire to succeed, I have also received awards. I am also a staff feedback representative, gathering process/policy problems/ideas and solutions, attending monthly meetings to discuss, resolve issues and implement new ideas.
Previously I have been a customer experience representative, which involved attending meetings and promoting to colleagues the importance of giving a customer, a good customer experience.
I have recently completed a project of organising the promotion of my department. This involved, requesting volunteers, booking rooms, holding meetings, issuing team emails, requesting a temporary central email for staff to give feedback and ideas, organising two drop in days for staff from other departments to visit my section to get a better understanding of what we do.
