Design Project Interdisciplinary venture with Civil Engineering students to design the process and construction of a large dairy. My tasks included: calculation of plant-wide mass and energy balances, specification of the HVAC system (including a comprehensive HAZOP) and detailed mechanical design of the homogeniser.

Team Work & Leadership:
Led a group of 6 to carry out an extensive, 11 week, waste management study of the University of Birmingham as part of 2nd year Sustainable Development elective. Chairing meetings, planning of the project and task delegation were my primary roles. It was also my responsibility to liaise with the module coordinator, compile the final report and lead the final presentation. I led my team to achieve the highest in the class (80%).
Captained school football team during my upper sixth form year. I would organise training sessions, build team spirit and help with team selection.
Initiative & Dedication
Volunteered as a student mentor through the STEMNET Go4SET scheme, aiding year 9 school children at Wodensborough Community Technology College, with their spring term mini design projects. The position required excellent communication skills, dedication and self confidence since it was my first experience of helping to teach children.
Self-funded a three week course during the summer of 2004 in computing, to achieve a European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) which qualified me to work in various administrative positions.
COMPUTATIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Comfortable using all popular Microsoft Office applications including Publisher, Front, Visio and Project.
