As Engineering Manager , I was responsible for every aspect of facilities management ,maintenance support to all production departments, and H&S Safety Officer for the UK' largest window blind manufacturer.
Incorporating 10 separate buildings, across three manufacturing and warehouse sites, at Nottingham and Washington.

Career history at Hillarys Blinds
March 1987 - Maintenance technician, repair and maintenance of general plant and equipment associated with window blind manufacture, along with injection moulding machines and associated equipment.
October 1992 - Promoted to company H&S officer .Gained Nebosh Certificate June 1993. (C9671)
October 1993 - Promoted to Maintenance manager. Responsible for all building and maintenance requirements between two sites (Nottingham & Washington). Including in house injection moulding facility. Introduced Risk assessment and safe working procedures for all in house operations.
September 1998 - Implementation of automated ultra-sonic production equipment for core product, working with overseas machine manufacturers
November 2001 - Engineering manager, two production engineers absorbed into Engineering department, responsibility and control of all Capital Expenditure ( non- ICT )projects.
November 2002 - Project manager for relocation of Washington operation from 15 small units on Armstrong Industrial Estate, Washington. To a new build site of 70,000 sq ft on Spire Road Washington.
Liaising directly will all contractors during building construction/handover and final fit out to Hillarys Blinds production/warehouse operations. Health and safety department al representative teams set up at all sites, with annual training days.
October 2004 - Project manager for expansion of warehouse and production facilities, into 50,000sqft building at Nottingham
March 2008 - Project manager for expansion of production/ warehouse facilities for 3rd manufacturing site, located near Junction 26 M1, of 135,000sqft unit
Reason for leaving; was approached by Sales Director from competitor
September 1985 - February 1997 Service Engineer Mason Amusements.
Part of a 3 man service team servicing and responding to break downs of amusement/bingo hall equipment, across the north east.
Reason for leaving; sought further employment
August 1977 - August 1985 - Coal face electrician at NCB Eppleton Colliery.
Following a full 4 year electrical apprenticeship, with the National Coal Board, I was employed as an electrician on a modern coal face. Duties included the repair, testing and examination of all electrical equipment in a modern coal mine.

Personal
I am a highly motivated, individual who can work within a team. I have gained vast experience of all aspects of facilities and safety management, and would I think these would benefit any future employer.
I am in excellent health, and still play for an “over40's†football side, enjoy keeping fit, and I am a season ticket holder at SAFC.
Living with partner Lynn in Houghton-le Spring for the last 8 years. I have one daughter, 24, currently training as a nurse ( paediatric ).
