CAREER HISTORY

1987 – 1994 Job Roles: Time Serviced Building Service Apprentice (5 years) then fully qualified Building Services Practitioner

Employer: Mawdesley, Master Builder, Southport, and Merseyside

I worked along side  Mawdesley for 15 years where I gained my building skills. I covered all aspects of building work including Plumbing, roof-work, Brickwork, Joinery and plastering. In 1989 we started a contract at a factory in Southport, Phillips Components. This was a major and highly reputable factory in the area I was the source of most of my projects. On occasion we carried out new builds, extensions and household repairs in addition to our work at Phillips. Whilst working at Phillips Components our main role was to undertake all the building maintenance for the factory and all new builds required. Through my work at Phillips Components I followed strict Health and Safety procedures. My work with   Mawdesley ceased when the factory closed in 1994 when he took retirement.

1994 -2009 Job Role: Building Services Sole Trader

Since 1994 I have been working as a sole trader focusing on Building and Plastering. I complete all my own paper work and simple accounts. I am very capable of overseeing contractors if needed. I find that with my experience in building work I can sort out problems for myself and can work well independently as well as in a team. Unfortunately due to the recession I had to cease being a sole trader.

Job Role: Cleaning and Maintenance worker.

In this role it was my responsibility to make sure that the restaurant area was kept hygienic clean and well presented. I had to carry out maintenance on all machinery to ensure they worked to there full capacity. I used specalised cleaning agents plus buffer machine

2011-Present Job Role: Labourer

In this role it is my job to take down old children’s play equipment and erect new play equipment. This involves digging holes placing the supports, and then finally erecting play areas. I use power tools in this role. Also I am responsible to check the cement mixture is correct
